Rad

Conrad (Rad) White started drumming on cardboard boxes at the age of 8 after seeing Ringo Starr on the Ed Sullivan Show.  He switched to a red sparkle drum kit  thanks to his grandad. As a teenager he started getting into Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep, Bad Company, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Deep Purple, and Mott the Hoople. Rad’s many musical influences include the late Jeff Porcaro of TOTO, Vinnie Colaiuta (of Frank Zappa, Sting, Jeff Beck, and Herby Hancock), plus Bobby Colomby (Blood Sweat & Tears).  He started playing professionaly in 1991 with Nev & The Revs, afterwhich he played with a number of Ottawa bands such as Kimberly Warnock And The Rain, Miss Cue, Juke Box Jive, and Radmen.  Conrad has studied with drummers Peter Beaudoin, (Musical Director for Sherri Harding & The Heat), T. Bruce Wittet, (writer published in Modern Drummer Magazine), and Steve Hollingworth (of Pat Travers, Cooper Brothers, Butler, Five Man Electrical Band).  Curently you can hear him in Axe2Grind, Lost Colt or Big Soul Project.  When he is not playing, he may be seen windsurfing at his cottage, walking his 2 dogs or practising at home.  He lives in Stittsville with his wife.
